Thursday, or Thereabouts - August 1, 2019

The best of the strawberries have come and gone.

Tassels have begun to wave from the cornfields.

Roadsides and gardens are bedecked with a profusion of daylilies.

                AND...(shush!)
                     The back-to-school ads have begun!

It's August!

I may not be a fan of summer's heat and humidity but August brings a harvest of delights that I don't want to miss. Even though the daylight hours are diminishing at just over two minutes a day, there's still plenty to enjoy and celebrate.

Wild blueberries from up north.

     Niagara peaches, pears and plums.

Corn on the cob - boiled or grilled but always dripping with butter!

                    AND...
A night sky to delight the imagination with shooting stars from the annual
Perseids Meteor shower.

Enjoy every minute. Savour every morsel.
And get extra butter!
